GOLF
Five minutes drive from Portman is La Manga Resort. Golf lovers will have a great time here as it houses the renowned La Manga golf complex, a 1,400 acre sporting paradise nestled between the low hills which separate the Mediterranean from the Mar Menor Sea in South Eastern Spain. TENNIS
La Manga Club also has a large tennis centre. There are 28 tennis courts to choose from, including 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four Astroturf courts, as well as two paddle tennis courts and a squash court, not to mention a pro shop, equipment hire services, racket service centre, fitness centre, physiotherapy and numerous other services.

QUAD BIKES
A number of centres in the area offer Quad Bike hire for 1 hour, 3 hours, a day or 7 days. Prices start at around 40 €uro for an hour up to 500 €uro for a full week. The price includes a tank of petrol, helmet, insurance and technical assistance. Vehicles are street legal and can be driven on the road as well as off road. Drivers must be over 25 years of age and hold a valid driver's licence.
There are also numerous centres for go-karting. These cater for all ages from the youngest novice to high powered karts for the experienced adults.
ON THE WATER
Water-skiing, windsurfing, kite surfing, hobby cats, jet skis and banana rides are all available somewhere in the Mar Menor area. The warm whallow waters make this a safe place to learn a new skill.
SAILING
The Mar Menor is a perfect location to learn to sail, improve your skills or just have some fun. There are many sailing centres located all around the lagoon offering boat rental by the hour and lessons.
